What we collect

• Account data — email and profile identifiers when you sign in (via Clerk).
• Usage & product data — scenario prompts, saved booklets, credit balance, and generation status stored in our database.
• Payment data — handled by Paddle; we receive transaction IDs and subscription status, not full card numbers.
• Analytics — if you accept analytics cookies, we use PostHog to collect page views and product events (see Cookie policy).
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and cookies required for authentication and security.

Why we process data

• Provide and improve the Service (contract performance).
• Process payments and manage credits (contract / legal obligation).
• Secure the Service and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
• Analytics, only with your consent where required by law.

AI processing

Your scenario text is sent to Google Gemini to generate structured content and booklet markdown. Do not submit real personal data about living individuals. Generated content is fictional and for tabletop game preparation.

Processors & transfers

We use trusted subprocessors, including:

• Clerk — authentication
• Paddle — payments
• Google (Gemini) — AI generation
• PostHog — analytics (optional, with consent)
• Hosting and database providers for infrastructure

Some providers may process data outside the Germany / EEA. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

Retention

Account and booklet data are kept while your account is active. You may request deletion by contacting us. Payment records may be retained as required by tax and accounting law.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object or withdraw consent. Contact us at info@writersalley.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
